With the arrival of December, we’re reminded that 2015 is coming to a close and the holidays have officially arrived. What does the holiday season mean to you and your family?

Does it mean the kids are home for winter break? Or, will your college-aged son or daughter be coming home for the holidays? If you have the whole family over for Christmas, whether it be a day or a week, you want to make sure that your house is in tip-top shape, and that includes toilets, sinks, and showers that work perfectly.

Nothing kills the mood during a holiday dinner or party like broken garbage disposal, clogged toilet or bathtub! In fact, a plumbing emergency just may get the guests running or at least booking a room (if one is available) at the nearest hotel.

As you get your house ready for company, holiday dinners and fabulous parties this year, don’t forget to think about your plumbing! Just as you would get the carpets cleaned, dust for cobwebs, get fresh-cut flowers and polish the silver, make sure your pipes and plumbing fixtures are performing at their best too!

Check These off Your Holiday Checklist

Whether your four kids will be home on winter break or the entire family comes to your house on Christmas, or you’re planning on having the most talked about New Year’s party of the decade, the last thing you want is a plumbing emergency, such as an overflowing toilet or flooded basement to spoil everything!

While we can’t help Uncle Joe’s offensive jokes, or make your neighbor’s fruitcake any more palatable, we can help you prevent a plumbing disaster. To prepare your plumbing for the holiday craziness, check these off your list:

  • Does your water get hot enough?
  • Is your garbage disposal in good shape?
  • Do you have any toilets that tend to clog?
  • Are your shower and bathtub drains draining efficiently?
  • Do you hear water running in the walls?
  • Do you have any water leaking from your ceiling?
  • Do you have a rocking toilet?
  • Are there offensive odors coming out of any of your drains?
  • Does your toilet sound like a percolator?
  • Is your water bill inexplicably high?

If you have one or more plumbing issues and you’re planning on having a busy home during the holidays, the best way to prevent costly repairs is to contact Excalibur Plumbing to check your pipes, drains, and fixtures!
